So, you’ve been looking to get into the utility trend but haven’t quite got to the add-to-bag part? We hear ya. To help, we picked our favourite safari-esque look from the most recent run of men’s fashion week shows for some pocket-laden pointers.

Tonal has reigned supreme this season, totally at odds with the in-your-face neon/animal-print revival. Ultimately a little more wearable, the chap above has served us a lesson in tonal tekkers. To start, he's donned a camo-print tee (big news for SS20) and some washed-out utility trousers – arguably the hero piece (along with the gilet) of the whole scene. Boots? In August? Well, considering it’s a heatwave one week and torrential rain the next, a pair of lightweight stompers can come in very handy, especially for any late festivals you've got coming up. If utility had a mantra, it would probably be 'practically stylish'.

We've switched up the above look slightly, namely choosing a striped tee in place of a camo piece as, well, stripes are always cool, aren’t they? We’ve upped the ante, though, including a super-techy cross-body bag in case the four pockets on those trousers weren’t already enough for you. Talking of practicality and style, we're literally following in our street styler's footsteps with those DMs constructed from a lighter canvas, complete with extra strappy details for yet more trend points. Tricky summer climes? With this look, there's no such thing.
